Skjoldhamn Hood

Seriously awesome, knitted woollen hood with a short closed cape, inspired by the Skjoldhamn caped hood, found in Norway app the year of 1050.

Goes with everything and looks great on everyone. Awesome with a viking - or Medeaval costume.

The 'real' Skjoldhamn Hood wasn't knitted but woven - knitting had been 'invented' way before then, but in Europa needlebinding (nålebinding) was a thing, knitting didn't get here until a couple of centuries later.

The hood is very soft and flexible, and of course really warm.

Nice detail is that it will work great under or over a winter coat as well.

Details

  • Sizes: Hood 26 cm / 10 inches deep and 34 cm / 13 inches high. The opening of the cape around the neck is about 68 cm / 27 inches around, and flexible. From neckline to top 30 cm / 12 inches, from shoulders to edge 21 cm / 8 inches.
  • Materials: 100% Italian bio wool.
  • Care Instructions: Washing in the washing machine, put in a duvet cover and wash on 35 ºC / 95 ºF on the delicates program. After washing, hang your Hood on a clothing hanger to dry. Change its position on the hanger every now and then to prevent it from getting 'shoulder' from the hanger.
